Arrived in LT1F and preparing everything for the LUCG 10th Anniversary

We arrived in LT1F around midnight with LU1AEE, LU7ACW, LU8ADX and I. Carlos LU1FKR, Lucas LU1FAM, Juan Pablo LU4DX, Eugenio LU4FLJ were waiting for us with the BBQ ready right on time! It was nice to meet our friends again. We haven’t met since the last 2010 ARRL DX CW in February. Earlier during the day I received a phone call from Geo LW4EU, confirming he was attending too. At arrival we saw a big tent rented by LU1FKR for the talks that Adrian LU1CGB and Ezequiel LU1FDU will conduct regarding Earth-Moon-Earth and Antenna design respectively. Two IP cammeras are already connected and broadcasting video in real time so that, the team members overseas can watch the event on the internet.

Though most of us have been up since 6 AM (Friday), we are still up and working on last details for the party. Right now Lucas is making Qs on 14 Mhz SSB with Japan stations. I was able to make Qs on 40 M cw, including a long chat with Matt KQ7W (LU9AY). Right after that we headed for the tent to test the audio system for the conferences and chatted with Matt on Skype! Always fun to talk with Matt one of our best long time friends.

Now look is about to hit the sack so I guess I’ll stay up since I’m not feeling sleepy at all and I’ll try to make some Qs on 20 M CW.

Enough for now. More to come tomorrow as the event develops.

73 to all!

Martin, LU5DX
